Political buzz everywhere.. The electing day was set at, thankfully, not 20 May, but 6 May. But damn, the public holiday cannot be applied to me, coz I work a bloody 5-day week. Sigh...

I know nuts about politics in Singapore, and I'm not interested. One can say that I take the political soundness of Singapore for granted(which I did). So far so good, the government take good care of us, yet did not spoil us (by letting the people living on hand-out).

But a few things, I'm definitely clear about.
1) there's really something wrong with one of the opposition party in Singapore. Tsk tsk, not the first time already.
2) my vote belongs to the PAP.
No, this have nothing to do with the $800 I just received from them (Thank you LHL) to pay the bills for my ROM recep. But all could see how far PAP had bring us as a country. Look at Bangkok now, they are like the 80s Singapore. Moving forward in all area, but it just take a small election and it could threaten the country to the original state... And look at Singapore now, and the next 5 years (based on what we were promised) I think it's obvious isn't it.

No matter what, there will still be no surprises in this election. We all know what the result will be. But still, there is democracy to be talk about, so we still have to elect. to make the ultimate choice. Not that I mind, just give me more of the "goodies"

Long Weekend.
Tuesday, April 18, 2006
Good Friday: We braved rain & thunder to measure up our chalet room. time for Deco!! Check it out!

Saturday:

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

We went for our Laser Combat game @ Fort Canning Park. Shagged, i tell you. Running on the hills, being scared & scaring people ALL at the same time... I felt like I'm being transported back in time, when I was still playing block-catching after school..

.

After the game, we had a simple lunch. Then proceed to East Coast Park for cycling(read: further torturing). I don't know if it's a prank of the bicycle rental kiosk, to give an hour free when one rented for two hours.

WHO THE HELL CAN CYCLE FOR 3HRS STRAIGHT!?

By the end of the day, my thighs were sore, and my butt hurts.

We wanted to go Marina South for seafood buffet dinner, but before that, I had to get to the clinic at Woodlands to get medications for my Dad's cough. Thus, I followed Shirley's car back (the car was borrowed, and the owner needs it back) and followed her husband's rented van back to join them at Marina South...

And then this had to happen.

Our van's tyre was not only punctured, it was completely flat! With the metal part scraping the ground. This was sooo drama. First we had no tools, but we had a spare tyre. Then after spending about 45min to fin the tools, we managed to find it, only to find the tools foreign & spoilt. So we spend another 40min trying to figure out how to use the tools... In the mean time, we tried to flag down any helpful driver, who might offer to lend us some tools, to change the damn tyre... NONE. They just looked at you like you were one pathetic worm, having drop from the tree, and stuck on some spider web.. You know, they found you so poor thing, but in glee.

Ha ha, i couldn't resist it. My first time stranded on the highway man. Actually, the Seletar Expressway signboard was supposed to be seen in this picture, but then, when the pics was being taken, the car came by.. -____-"

LL lor...

The picture were taken by Lynn, who was very -___-" by my excitement.

It's actually quite a sight, standing by the side of the expressway. With all the vehicles running by you in high speed. Hee...

This was only the beginning.. as the time went by, and the dinner-time creping further & further away (yes, if you remembered, I'm supposed to be on the way to marina for my dinner) my energy & excitment drained. Not just me, but the whole group of us.

By 10pm.. 2hrs after the whole ordeal began.. We threw in the towel and called the rescue-team.
Image hosting by Photobucket The wordings are not clear -- EMAS RECOVERY

Lesson learnt that day: Our expressway actually have rescue team, to help vehicles in need. FOC. FREE OF CHARGE!!!!

After they confirmed that the tyre couldn't be change, we arranged to have another vehicles to pick us up. Just when we were setting off, Grumpy gotta call and informed us that the buffet was closing. Sad~ Sad~ Sad~

So we settled for Chomp Chomp Hawker center. Same nice food. But I'm still craving for marina's seafood. Sob.

Sunday: Stay at home & brood. grieving for another work week ahead.
It's strange that once i made up my mind on the back-up plan. I worked like an ant -- blind obedience. Just follow instruction. Let's see how long this tug-a-war is played.

Just In Case...
Wednesday, April 12, 2006
I have a back-up plan... Just in case.. So many things happened lately, and my situation now is considered fragile (according to Grumpy), with many life-long plans ahead. After waiting for so many years, finally, they are within my reach, my view..

On the worst case senerio, I'll activate this back-up plan. Yes, i would mean taking a step back in my career path, considering how far I had climbed. But if a temporary setback can push you to greater heights, why not? Just like a jumper jumping.. Before he has to spring up, he must bend his knees...

I have so much faith in future. That's because I had know my way since Day 1. I only have one destination, but many routes to it. If the longer route is the smoothest, then that should be the one I take. =)

I'm not ambitious, I'm not naive, I'm not proud either.
I'm just sure.

I WANT BUTTERED POPCORN!
Thursday, April 06, 2006
Yummy yummy yum yum!!

Hiding in a quiet outskirt of the bustling town, with very little patronage, lies SHAW Tower. And within this old building, lies an old cinemas, which had seen more glorious day.

And look what I found -- A POPCORN BUTTER PUMP!!!!! I love my popcorn (Salted) drowning in melted, oily butter. Just the fragrance is enough to release my appetite.

Years ago, when Golden Village just started, they had it too. And I could scoff down 2 large serving by myself anytime. Then they stopped supplying the butter, saying they popped the corn with butter, so it's the same, only cleaner, as there won't be any messy drips from their thin-paper container.

-exasperation- BUT IT'S NOT THE SAME, AND NEVER WILL BE THE SAME!!!!!!!

They just don't get it. Sigh...
And so, I stopped the craze about their popcorn.

So far, Eng Hwa's not bad. At least the buttery taste is still heavy enough. And I always have that. BUT NOT ANYMORE! -evil laugh- From now on, I shall go & eat SHAW tower popcorn! I shall indulge in popcorn-craze one more!!

MUAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

HERE I COME!!!!

We are No. 1!
Tuesday, April 04, 2006
To celebrate having achieved highest sales among all field player, my company held a celebration for all staffs (sales & support) at Suntec Convenction Hall last night - carnival style. There were alot of good food & entertainment:

The food was so nice, especially the mousses on spoon. Soft, fluffy & delicious! And the best part was, all the food were being replenished as soon as more than half were gone. So there's no nasty shoving.. tsk tsk.. prudential aunties were very good at these tricks. They would go like, "excuse me-excuse me-" and shove... Not the most perfect sight.

On the the entertainment side, they had a tall guy to disturb anybody that's within reach. Either by pressing their heads, or by suddenly looming above their heads.. (a trick that normally guaranteed screams among groups of girls..)

There were also artists that sketch a portriat of you, FOC. Two oprions were given, one was cartoon style, another was no-nonsense kind. Me, being the serious one, did the no-nonsense kind.

Drawing a girl... Can see the outline already..
MINE. Look like me or not?

There's also Bikini girls, squitting liquor into men's mouth using the water-shotgun. Alot of people (guys esp) were fascinated about it. One of the models even decided to go braless.. Hmm...

Besides the sketching, this was another must-have. The Master skillfully cut out the outline of your head, without using pencil.. Amazing..

My side-view shadow....

And the all-events-must-have-program: Balloon sculpting lor... Was quite cool, alot of choice, there were poodles, flowers, ring, tweety-birds, & teddy bears.. Alot of aunties scrambled about, trying to collect ALL designs for their kids back home.

All & all, it ends quite late. But was fun all the way. Actually I spend most of my time Q-ing up for those special items.. I miss the magic show. Only manage to saw a table FLOAT IN MIDAIR from afar... *gasp* Illusions!!! But it's ok.. at least i have something to bring home to. =)
